TECHNOLOGY NOW AND BEFORE
Technology is a really helpful resource for all humans on the earth, and during last decade many technological improves changed our lives.
Let’s start with my favorite technological advances, the Play Station 2 and X-box 360 were an improvement that made more fun to play videogames, because their images are more real and we can play only with our movements.
Also I remember the change of television devices, people started to buy flat screen devices and some of them with a High Definition Image. The most important improvement of technology for people was the wireless access to internet, people started to work on internet wherever in their houses, offices or anywhere.
Finally everybody agrees that google was the most important enterprise that become global and facilitated a huge amount of information for people all over the world.

QUESTIONS:
1. what is the most significant improvement on technology that you remember?
2. Can you list four (4)technological advances comparing the technology now days?
3. What other different technological advances do you remember when you were a 9 or 10 years old child?

EXERCISE: SHOULD, MUST OR HAVE TO

SHOULD, MUST AND HAVE TO...

...PARA AQUELLOS INTERESADOS EN VERBOS MODALES

IN ORDER TO FACILITATE YOUR SEARCH ON MODAL VERBS I SUGGEST YOU CLICK ON THE FOLLOWING LINK ABOUT SHOULD:

http://www.shertonenglish.com/resources/es/main-verbs/should.php

MUST BE

Analiza cuidadosamente esta situación-ejemplo:
Monica is a very good tennis player, and not many players beat her. But yesterday she played against Bill and Bill won. So, Bill must be a very good player (otherwise he wouldn't have won).(Debe ser un muy buen jugador; de lo contrario, no habría ganado).

RESUMIENDO:

1)  Lucy, you've been traveling all day. You must be tired.
(= I am sure that you are tired.)

Lucía, has estado viajando todo el día. Debes estar cansada.

2)  Your exams are next week. You must be studying very hard right now.
(= I am sure that you are studying.)
Tus exámenes son la semana próxima. Debes estar estudiando mucho ahora.

3)  Manuel knows a lot about films. He must like to go to the movies.
(= I am sure he likes to go to the movies.)

HAVE TO...

Observa las siguientes oraciones:
-  We have to know daily what the prices are.
-  Every day Robinson has to fax his opinion on the politics.

OBLIGACION
o NECESIDAD
OBLIGACION MODERADA
o CONSEJO
AUSENCIA DE OBLIGACION
o NECESIDAD
have to
should / shouldn't
don't have to
must / mustn't
ought to
needn't
need to

don't need to

I must finish this today. (I would like to start working on the new project tomorrow)Debo terminar esto hoy.

I have to attend a meeting. (The boss has asked me to attend the meeting).

This beautiful song contains past forms of some verbs in English. You just listen and solve the questions below.

SOMEWHERE ONLY WE KNOW
I walked across an empty land
I knew the pathway like the back of my hand
I felt the earth beneath my feet
Sat by the river and it made me complete

Oh simple thing where have you gone
I'm getting old and I need something to rely on
So tell me when you're gonna let me in
I'm getting tired and i need somewhere to begin

I came across a fallen tree
I felt the branches of it looking at me
Is this the place we used to love
Is this the place that i've been dreaming of

Oh simple thing where have you gone
I'm getting old and i need something to rely on
So tell me when you're gonna let me in
I'm getting tired and i need somewhere to begin

And if you have a minute why don't we go
talk about it somewhere only we know
this could be the end of everything
so why don't we go
somewhere only we know

(Break)

Oh simple thing where have you gone
I'm getting old and i need something to rely on
So tell me when you're gonna let me in
I'm getting tired and i need somewhere to begin

And if you have a minute why don't we go
talk about it somewhere only we know
this could be the end of everything
so why don't we go
somewhere only we know

(Instrumental)

this could be the end of everything
so why don't we go
somewhere only we know
